Get notified when a web-site updates

Since I’ve started my YouTube channel that’s focused mostly on TickTick, the task management app – I wanted to be more aware of updates that they’re making to the app. They have a change log that they keep up-to-date, but there’s no way to subscribe to it and get notified when it gets updated, as far as I could tell.

I thought certainly there is someone offering a service to send you notifications when a web-site that you want to keep track of, gets an update. I was right.

It turns out there are a lot of different services that do this type of thing. I tried one called PageCrawl.io and so far it has worked great.

I signed up, entered the URL I wanted to track and gave it a name. I did have to select a CSS element to track, and they have a tool that guides you through that part, a bit. Then click save.

The service can check daily, weekly, or monthly and a few other options as well. I set it up for daily and sure enough, a few days later I was notified of a change.

It shows the new text in the e-mail itself. It also provides a link to view the page within PageCrawl.io which gives a more detailed comparison on what exactly changed, and there is also a screenshot of the actual web-site attached to the e-mail.

This was exactly what I was looking for. Now I can stay up-to-date without constantly checking the web-site daily myself.
