😀 Updates since last month
Updated: July 1, 2022
- Checked out Taste of Omaha, and Charlotte and I tried to win $100 hanging from a bar.
- Started being more active outside as a family.
- Still painting bedrooms, including my home office – now working from the basement in a temporary office.
📗 Book I’m currently reading
- The Red Badge of Courage by Stephen Crane
- Excited to read something hopefully less dense than the last 2 books I read.
📕 Book I finished reading last month
- The Case for God by Karen Armstrong
- This was not what I thought it was going to be. It was basically a history of Western religion and it was very dry.
🎸 Music I’ve been listening to
- Europe 2009 (Live), Dave Matthews Band
- I seem to forget about Dave Matthews Band from time to time and then re-discover them. I love all the instruments they use.
🎧 Podcast episodes I thought were interesting
- MFCEO100, Andy Frisella
- I don’t listen to this podcast regularly anymore – but for awhile it was a good one and this episode was one of the best. “The bottom line is winners win and losers lose.”
🎥 Videos I thought were worth watching
- Obama’s speech at 50th Anniversary of the Selma Marches, Barack Obama
- “We are Lewis and Clark… and Sacagewa; Pioneers who braved the unfamiliar, followed by a stampede of farmers and miners and entrepreneurs and hucksters. That’s our spirt, that’s who we are.” Obama was a very good speaker.
- Biblical Series I: Introduction to the Idea of God, Jordan Peterson
- I was watching this lecture series at the same time I was reading A Case for God as a supplement. I didn’t make it through all of the lectures, but really enjoyed the videos I made it through.
✍ Quote I’ve been thinking about
“Why is there something rather than nothing?“
– An old philosophical question
