I’m trying out reading two books at a time for the first time. With books like Moby Dick, even though it’s fiction, it’s a heavier read. I can read a certain amount each day before I’m done. I realized I was able to switch over to something different and lighter, like Neil deGrasse Tyson’s Astrophysics for People in a Hurry and it worked out pretty good.
Besides Christmas music, I was mostly listening to The Killers’ Pressure Machine, which is by far the best album of 2021, in my opinion. I also have been listening to Bruce Springsteen’s 1988 Stockholm concert. I’ve been somewhat fascinated by this period of his career – he’d made it big, he was getting divorced, falling in love with Patti, this was the last tour with the E-Street Band for 10+ years.
“worrying is not preparation”– Austin Kleon who said he got it from Jeffrey Tambor
I never knew that Keith Richards used this type of tuning, which he mentions he got from Ry Cooder.
This was a well made video which is mostly about how you can actually read more. I especially liked the part with the speed reader talks about why he prefers to read slow. A few weeks ago, I had written some of my own thoughts on how to read more.
This was a brief history of caffeine and the coffee break.
