😀 Updates since last month
Updated: March 1, 2022
- My wife had a surgery last month so a lot of time was spent tending to her and taking care of the household.
- I published the first video in, what I hope is, a 12-part series – but these are longer videos and it’s taken more effort than I anticipated.
- There seemed to be a lot of no-school days in February, so the kids were home quite a bit.
- My youngest daughter reminded me that there’s no use crying over spilled milk.
📗 Books I’m currently reading
📕 Book I finished reading last month
- The Bridges of Madison County by Robert James Waller
- I liked reading this book, but when I was done I’m not sure I liked the story.
- The Order of Time by Carlo Rovelli
- This was the third science book I read in a row. It was fairly short, easy to read, moved slow and, for the most part, was easy to understand – but there were parts that blew my mind.
- Of Mice and Men by John Steinkbeck
- I read this first in 2020 and read it again this year to discuss it with my wife who’s a high school English teacher. I like the book, but it’s sad – so why I do I like it?
🎸 Music I’ve been listening to
- Mystery Girl, Roy Orbison
- It’s funny how our tastes change over time. I don’t think I could’ve listened to this album before now, and this month I listened it to repeatedly. This was Roy Orbison’s last album.
- Chimes at Midnight, Madrugada
- This band was around since the 1990’s and on hiatus since 2008. I’ve not listened to their earlier stuff yet, but this is a new album that came out this year and it’s fantastic.
- The End of the Innocence, Don Henley
- A lot of these songs seem to have been on the radio when I was little, but my first time seriously listening to them as an adult. It’s pretty good.
✍ Quote I’ve been thinking about
“‘Whenever you feel like criticizing any one,’ he told me, ‘just remember that all the people in the world haven’t had the advantages that you’ve had.‘”
– F. Scott Fitzgerald; The Great Gatsby
🎧 Podcast episodes I thought were interesting
- The Tim Ferriss Show – #502 Jordan Peterson on Rules for Life, Psychedelics, The Bible, and Much More
- I’ve been a fan of Jordan Peterson for a few years, but recently have become a bigger fan. I like how Jordan Peterson approaches
🎥 YouTube videos I thought were worth watching
- Warren Zevon’s last appearance on David Letterman
- Enjoy every sandwich.
- Natural Tropical Fish Store Reveals Secrets to NO Water Changes
- Great story about an immigrant who made a living starting a fish story – it wasn’t easy.
