Author: Patrick Lencioni
My Rating: 4/5
This was a very easy read – it was a fictional story with some lessons to be learned from it. There was a list of principles that the main character learned from a fictional consulting company. There were 3 categories:
- Fear of Losing Business
- Fear of Being Embarrased
- Fear of Feeling Inferrior
For me personally, I could relate very easily to the Fear of Being Embarrassed. This category contained 3 principles:
- Ask dumb questions
- Make dumb suggestions
- Celebrate your mistakes
These were things that I realized I’ve been hesitant to do. After reading this book, I was able to quickly put these principles into action – and with success, also.
My favorite quote came from the Introduction,
Without the willingness to be vulnerable, we will not build deep and lasting relationships in life.
I like this style of business book – fables that you can learn from.
